Terry Roberts was born September 6, 1951 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His family moved to Broken Bow, Oklahoma in 1956. Terry was a very intelligent youngster, by-passing the first grade to the second grade due to his ability to read and write at a higher level. He was a straight A student throughout his school days. Terry graduated from Broken Bow Highschool in 1968 at the age of sixteen. He enrolled in Oklahoma State University where he studied Electrical Engineering. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree, Terry continued his studies at OSU, courtesy of the U.S. Airforce, and obtained his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering upon graduation. Terry then moved to Torrance, California and served four years with the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Organization (SAMCO) where he worked with NASA, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Airforce and other important programs. Upon finishing his service in the Air Force, Terry was hired by Aerospace Corporation. This company was dedicated exclusively to space enterprises by providing objective technical guidance and engineering and integration for the military, civil, and commercial space programs. Terry retired from Aerospace after forty years of service. Terry was a special man. He loved to ride motorcycles with his wife, Nina, travel with his son, Desmond, and work out at the gym among many other activities, but his family came first. Terry passed away on September 11, 2026 after his 75th birthday. Terry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nina and both of his parents, Joe Bob Roberts and Frank Clinton Roberts. He leaves behind his son, Desmond Miles of the home and brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Criss Roberts from Idabel, Oklahoma, niece, April Leinich residing in Vienna, Austria, and nephew, Bryan Roberts residing in Athens, Georgia.
We will miss him. A memorial service will be held October 10 at Terry and Desmond’s home in San Diego, California.
