Abby D Starling

Born on June 7, 1955, in Columbus, Georgia, Abby lived a life marked by faith, love, and selfless devotion to others. She was the beloved wife of James Wesley Starling, with whom she shared 54 beautiful years of marriage—a lifelong bond rooted in love, loyalty, and faith in God.

Abby dedicated her early years to raising her children as a full-time mother, creating a warm and faith-filled home. Later, she served the Harris County School System with kindness and dedication until her retirement. Her compassion, patience, and care made a lasting impact on the lives of those around her.

A faithful member of River of Life Church of God in Hamilton, Abby’s love for the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. She worshipped with joy, prayed with sincerity, and lived with a heart full of grace.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Wesley Starling, and their four children, James Wesley Starling (Kristina), Abby Nicole Starling (Derrick), Brittany Koone (Kenneth), and Cameron Starling.

Abby was a proud and devoted grandmother to five grandchildren, Hunter Starling, Payton Starling, Cayden Koone, Weston Koone, and Emma Grace Koone.

She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Sandra Nobles, Wanda Milam, Pat Antley, Robin Milam, and Denvel Milam Jr (Susie).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Milam and Denvel "Sunny Boy" Milam Sr., and her brother, Randy Milam.

Abby will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, cherished sister, faithful friend, and a woman whose kindness and love left a lasting legacy. To know Abby was truly to love her.

A celebration of Abby’s life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at River of Life Church of God, located at 8060 US Hwy 27, Hamilton, GA 31811. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. All who knew and loved her are invited to attend and honor her memories.
