Mrs. Alice Pope Stripling Roberts

Mrs. Roberts was born May 19, 1916, in Troup County, GA, the daughter of the late Mercer C. and Mary Alice Stripling. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in LaGrange, active in Sunday School Class and the Ladies Circle.

Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Jasper “Jack” Roberts. Her sister, Geralyn “Jerry” Register; brother-in-law, J.D. Register, of Orlando, FL; niece, Cheryl Sue Howard, of Haltom City, TX.

She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Roberts Hanner; two grandchildren, Alissa Hanner Wood (Darrell) and Michael Jerome Hanner (Annalee); three great grandchildren, Jacob Thomson, McKenzie Hanner, and Brandon Wood; a nephew, Johnny Calvin Roberts; and nieces, Marilyn Oxley and Charlotte Cowan, several great nieces, a great nephew, and a cousin.

Graveside services will be Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 2pm in Pine Mountain City Cemetery with Dr. Harold Lawrence officiating.

Flowers will be accepted or donations to First United Methodist Church, 401 Broad St., LaGrange, GA 30240, or Hospice LaGrange, 1510 Vernon Rd., LaGrange, GA 30240 in her memory.
