

Mrs. Todd was born February 29, 1920 in Woodbury, Georgia, daughter of the late Homer Lee Pearson and Lucille Beall Pearson. She had lived in LaGrange most of her life and owned and operated Allene’s Beauty Shop for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on the Square. Mrs Todd was a former Pink Lady; a member of the Talisman Garden Club; and an avid bridge player. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Ernest Todd.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Walton Knight; three granddaughters and their husbands, Natalie and Bobby Hale, Gail and Michael Gilmartin, and Cindy and Casey Lanier; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hallie Hale, Jacob Johnston, Sarah and Michael Gilmartin, Abbi Lynn, Walton, and Adeline Lanier; sisters, Agnes Walton and Alice Garner; sisters-in-law, Eva Davis and Gaynelle Fuller; brother-in-law, Lewis Todd; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will gather at the funeral home to receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012 in the Ida Cason Callaway Memorial Chapel at the First Baptist Church on the Square with Dr. Paul R. Baxter and Dr. Harold Lawrence officiating. A private burial will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to either First Baptist Church on the Square or First United Methodist Church of LaGrange in memory of Allene Pearson Todd.
