“Arnie”, as he was affectionately known was born August 7, 1936 in Marion County, AL, son of the late Thomas Dee Clark and Burlie Ann Hudson Clark. He was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church and the Elm City Mason Lodge. Mr. Clark proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring in July of 1974 as a Master Sergeant with 20+ years of service. During his military tenure, he was a Tail gunner on a B52 Bomber during the Vietnam Conflict. After retirement, Arnie loved playing golf and spending time with his family, but also had to stay busy, working for several different companies such as Sears, Milliken, WT Hollis, Custom Gears, and most recently serving as a greeter at Home Depot. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dewayne Clark and his daughter, Lisa Kay Levens.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Kay Clark; grandson, Andrew Levens; son-in-law, Brian Levens; loving extended family, Donnie and Gail Levens, Roger and Becky Levens, Chuck and Dawn Redmond, Lily Redmond; nephew, Gregory Bryan Copeland; sister, Vernell Barnes; sister-in-law, Sirje Copeland; several nieces, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, June 12, 2022 in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Randy Nix officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm until the service time. Full Military honors will be presented.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of America or The Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Arnold D. Clark.
