Augustus Guinn Vaughn Sr.

Augustus Guinn Vaughn, Sr., 86, of LaGrange, GA died Friday, December 7, 2012 at West Georgia Hospice, LaGrange, GA.

Mr. Vaughn was born October 16, 1926 in Conyers, GA, son of the late Judge Clarence Roland Vaughn, Sr. and Mary Julia Guinn Vaughn.

Mr. Vaughn graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Georgia in 1950. After working as a pharmacist for several years in Panama City, FL he moved to LaGrange and acquired Davis Pharmacy in 1959. Davis Pharmacy and Vaughn’s Pharmacy remained in business until Mr. Vaughn retired in 1994. In his retirement years, he enjoyed farming, watching Georgia Football, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, first in Conyers, GA, and later in LaGrange, GA.

He is survived by his wife, Reaunette Everett Vaughn of LaGrange; daughter, Patricia Clare Vaughn of LaGrange; son, Dr. Augustus Guinn Vaughn, Jr. and his wife, Dr. Rebecca Youngblood Vaughn, of Acworth, GA; two grandchildren, Lindsey Taylor Vaughn and Augustus Guinn Vaughn, III, also of Acworth, GA; as well as nephews, Clarence Roland Vaughn, III and family and Alvin Henson Vaughn and family, all of Conyers, GA.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at First United Methodist Church of LaGrange with Dr. Harold Lawrence officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, 401 Broad Street, LaGrange, GA 30240 or West Georgia Hospice, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange, GA 30240 in memory of Mr. Augustus Guinn Vaughn, Sr.
