

Mrs. McCown was born February 25, 1936 in LaGrange, GA to the late William Jessie Odom and Winnie Wood Odom. She was employed with Corley Drugs on North Greenwood and had retired from the State of Georgia Mental Health Services after many years of service. Mrs. McCown was affectionately known as the “Burger King Granny” at the West Point location. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Leslie Wayne Longshore; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Longshore and Samuel Caleb Smith; siblings, John Odom, Bart Brand, Wayne Odom, Katherine Chapman, Ophelia Alverson, Lessie Lane, Alma Schiller, and Lillian Newton.
Survivors include her children, Greg (Melanie) Longshore, Robert Longshore, III, Amy (Robert) Smith, Cindy (Kenneth) Darden, and Joel (Vickie) Evans; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Hilton (Robin) Odom of Hogansville, GA; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Rev. Doug Bingham officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The gathering of Family and friends will begin at 1:00P.M. until service time.
