Mrs. Cummings was born June 18, 1926 in Randolph County, AL, daughter of the late Joe Lee Bass and Jimmie Eliza McManus Bass. She had lived in LaGrange most of her life and retired from West Point Stevens. She was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Calvin Cummings of LaGrange; two daughters, Reba and Thomas Smith of West Point, and Linda and Bobby Yarbrough of Pine Mountain; two sons, Roger and Pat Cummings and Roy and Sharon Cummings, all of LaGrange; a brother, Russell Bass of Woodland, AL; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010 in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Max McCord officiating.
The family will be at the home of Linda and Bobby Yarbrough at 6738 Hamilton Road, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
