She was predeceased by her parents, H.Q. and Katie Lee Allison, her sister Evelyn Tinsley, and her husband Larry Edmonds. She is survived by her sons, Kent Edmonds and Chris Edmonds, and by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was born October 16, 1927 in Anderson, S.C. and married there in 1948. They resided there until 1966 when they moved to the LaGrange area. In the following years she began a second career focused on her love of interior design, first with an in-home design service and later with a design studio on Ridley Avenue and then with the purchase of Woodings, a gift and home accessory store on Main Street in LaGrange. The business soon expanded to the adjacent storefront to house her interior design studio.
Betty’s first love was her family and friends, and her greatest delight was having a house full and preparing wonderful meals (then trying hard to get everyone to spend the night). Her other loves included Christmas, coffee and/or bridge with friends, and traveling.
Betty was dedicated to her work and valued quality, beauty, and comfort meshed with her clients’ style. Tough and determined worker, she worked into her 80’s while surviving widowhood, cancer, broken bones, hip replacements, heart issues and a pacemaker.
Joyously, she is now reunited with her husband and her family that has gone on before her. A future memorial service is planned for a future date. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in LaGrange.
