Betty Ray Murphy

Mrs. Murphy was born July 30, 1947 in Carrollton, GA, daughter of the late John W. and Clara Ilene Evans. She was a faithful member of Gray Hill Baptist Church and loved her family. Mrs. Murphy enjoyed gardening, crocheting and especially reading her Bible. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include her husband, John Murphy, Jr.; sons, Steve (Lana) Murphy and Danny (Kim) Murphy; daughters, Lisa Billingsley and Dana (Charles) Cato; grandchildren; Brittney (Joseph) Hinton, Amber (Kyle) Tucker, Kayleigh (Brian) Hester, Cecilie (Blake) Benedict, Emily Murphy, Justin Cato, Chelsea Billingsley, Karleigh Murphy, Drew Billingsley, Cameron Cato and McKenzie Cato; 14 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Minister Steve Murphy and Rev. Lamar Womack officiating. Burial will follow in the Gray Hill Cemetery.
