

Billy was born June 26, 1959, in Lagrange Georgia, to the late Lonnie Edward Sprayberry and Frances Nazree Sprayberry. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Leon Sprayberry, and his sister-in-law, Shirley Sprayberry.
Billy was known for his hard work and determination, as well as his lifelong love of cars and racing. He was employed by Baker Construction as a construction worker but his true passion was found under the hood. Known for his remarkable skills as a mechanic he was one of the best you could ask for— especially when it came to repairing classic cars. His true love was the thrill of the track, spending several years racing at East Alabama Motor Speedway. Those who knew him will remember his dedication, talent, and the joy he found in every race and every engine he worked on.
Billy is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Debbie Sprayberry; his son, Jeremy Sprayberry; his daughter, Laprell Sprayberry; his stepson, Michael Bush (Amanda); and his stepdaughter, Michelle Surowic (Robert). He is also survived by his sisters, Velma Lovin (Dennis) and Susan Monroe (Tommy); his brothers, Junior Sprayberry and Paul Sprayberry; grandchildren, Vincent Surowic (Jeannie), Dylan Surowic, Blake Norred (Tabitha), Codie Whitley (Nicole), and Josh Whitley; 12 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, with Rev. Jeff Duran officiating .
Billy will be remembered for his strong will, his love of racing, and his gift for bringing old cars back to life. His legacy of determination and passion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
