Billy was born February 12, 1944, in LaGrange, GA to the late John Henry Thompson and Lillian Rachel Murphy Thompson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Lonnie Elaine Cummings and son, Gregory Mize.
Billy was a long-time business owner of Thompson Framing where he enjoyed building and framing homes.
He is survived by his sister, Jean Moncus and husband Jimmy; his children, Bobbie Spears and husband Marty, BJ Thompson and wife Tiffany, Debra McGuffin and husband Lee and Gayla Miller; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, October 20, 2025, at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in LaGrange, GA. Rev. Dr. Mike Reeves will be officiating.
