Mr. Bobby Gene Stanfield, 82, of West Point, GA passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 28, 2022 at his home in New Port Richey, Florida. Mr. Stanfield was born on August 16, 1940 in Langdale, Alabama the son of the late Mamie Thelma Higgins.
He humbly gave his life to the Lord and was a member of Harrisonville Baptist Church. Mr. Stanfield served 20 years in the United States Army before retiring in 1978 at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. For his deeds of heroism and valor during the Vietnam War, he was awarded the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and a Bronze Star. Following his retirement from the Army, Mr. Stanfield worked a number of years as an Electronics Technician at Texas Instruments and as a Technical Systems Analyst at Dell Computers.
In addition to his mother and father-in-law, Clyde Higgins, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Johnny and Frankie Turner Sims, his loving wife Sheron Stanfield, his brother-in-law Rev. W.T. Bates, his nephew Ricky Turner, his niece Amanda Sims, his uncle Herman Turner, his nephews Keith Turner and Michael Turner.
He is survived by his spouse June Leinani Stanfield, sister-in-law Sheila Bates, brother-in-law Jeffrey Sims, former sister-in-law Debbie McIntyre, aunt Ruby Turner; children Dwayne & Melissa Stanfield, Donna Stanfield, Stephen Stanfield, daughter-in-law Frances Tindell and husband Rex Tindell; grandchildren Sara Elizabeth Stanfield, Rebecca Stanfield and fiance Chris Nunn, Jeffrey Stanfield, Hannah Mackey and husband Tyler Mackey, Benjamin Lee Haun and wife Veranikah Hahn, Richard Paul (PJ) Haun; great grandchildren Jaden Stanfield, Jeffrey Stanfield Jr., McKenzie Stanfield, Nash Mackey, Michael Nunn, Bailey Nunn, Matthew Nunn, Daniel Nunn and Jameson Hahn; nieces and nephews, Tina Bates Turner and family, Shane Bates (Terri Lea) and family, Denise Bates Wright (Billy) and family, Angie Sims Phillips (Tom) and family, Monty Sims (Kodie) and family, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A Graveside Funeral Service with military honors for Bobby will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Alabama.
