Born on September 9, 1928, in Senoia, Georgia, Catherine lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service to others. Alongside her late husband, Jerry Carmical, she was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange for many years. She devoted countless hours to her church family, serving on the Altar Guild and the Wedding Committee, where she lovingly helped coordinate hundreds of weddings over the years.
Catherine found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed playing bridge with her dear friends, tending to her beautiful flowers, and creating stunning floral arrangements. She was an exceptional cook who delighted in preparing meals for those she loved, and her home reflected her cheerful spirit with her fondness for pineapple décor, a symbol of hospitality she embodied so well. Catherine never needed a special occasion to open her home—she treasured entertaining family and friends and making everyone feel welcome.
Above all else, Catherine's greatest love was her family. They were the center of her world, and nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with them and showering them with love. She especially cherished quiet moments in her sunroom, watching the wildlife outside, particularly the deer that frequently visited. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by husband Jerry Carmical, daughter Susan E Carmical, her parents Hiram and Helen Ruth Todd and brothers Hiram Todd Jr and Edgar Todd.
She is survived by her son Scott (Susan) Carmical, grandchildren Rob Carmical, and Allison Carmical.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Funeral services in the chapel at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 3, 2026 at First United Methodist Church, LaGrange.
