MURRAY, KENTUCKY – Our dearly beloved and beautiful mother Dr. Clovis Pauline “Polly” Gore Bryant, Ed. D, 92, passed away peacefully from this life August 15, 2015. Born August 15, 1923 as Clovis Pauline Gore she became a strong, loyal and committed (“for the duration”) member of the “Greatest Generation”. Polly retired from the Jefferson County Public Schools in 1985 as a Reading Lead Specialist (K-12) and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and educator who always provided her family the utmost nurturing example of strong personal courage, resourcefulness, wisdom, and resolute love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Always the best homemaker and Mom, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren…and along the way found spare time to complete her formal higher education with three degrees. Polly was predeceased by her husband COL John T. Bryant, Jr., USA, a native of Columbus, GA. They began their life together at Camp Blanding, FL, preparing for what became a 30 year military family life together that spanned World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Polly was predeceased by her parents, Joseph S. Gore and Minnie Lee Louise Walls Gore; her brother, Edwin Malone Gore; and her sisters, Floy Estelle Gore Tillman, Lily Arnell “Nelly” Gore Taylor and Olga “Shorty” Geneva Gore Daniel.
