Clyde was born on May, 21, 1954, in Lawrenceburg, TN, son of the late William Louie Benefield and Lillie Clifton Benefield. He retired from Milliken after 36 years of dedicated service. Clyde was not a complexed man and enjoyed the simple things in life. In his younger days, he would be found fishing or tinkering on cars. As time passed, he found great pleasure in listening to his music and sitting on the front porch. He loved his family and spending time with all the grands. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Roy Lee Jackson III, William Edward Benefield and Erick Johnathan Benefield; his siblings, Betty (Bobby) Laster, Bud Benefield, Gene Benefield, Richard Benefield; brothers-in-law, Cleve Bradley, Buddy Kemp, John Arnold, Jerry Scarborough Sr., Charles Walston, Jimmy Scarborough and sister-in-law, Brenda Walston.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Terri D. Benefield; grandkids, Amy Za Morano, Daniel Hockett (Carolyn Holloway), Lauren Hockett (Deven McCann), Kylie Benefield (Zack Sprayberry), Taylor Benefield, Olivia Benefield, Tristen Griffith, Alexis Griffith; extended grandkids, Michael Hockett (Jessica), Corbin Griffith and Kimberly Coe; great grandkids, Brooklyn, Zoey, Hosea, Carlos, Aubrella, Eli, Cameron, Johnathan, Christian, Peyton and numerous other extended great grandkids; his sisters, Sue (Harry) Kirby, Francis Kemp and Daisy Mae Arnold; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 6:00pm in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until service time.
