Darrell Ray Rice

In loving memory of Darrell Ray Rice, who was born on May 28, 1943, in Lagrange, Georgia, and passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026. Darrell was the beloved son of Flora Messer Rice and Dave Rice. He was predeceased by his baby boy and five sisters and is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Brenda Joyce Bowen Rice.

Darrell leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication through his family, including his daughters, Kimberly Lindsey Becerra (Jesus) and Laura Tucker Smith (Arthur). He was the proud grandfather of three adoring grandchildren: Courtney Lindsey, Nick Lindsey, and Cody Tucker, and was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Cayden and Jaxon Tucker, who will continue to carry his spirit forward. He is also survived by his youngest sister, Marsha Rice Jones.

A man of many talents, Darrell owned and operated Rice Heating and Air for 35 years, where he was known for his commitment and integrity. His work was a testament to his belief in hard work and his desire to provide for his family, whom he cherished above all else. Darrell was a Baptist by faith turning his life over to the Lord 15 years ago.

Darrell's zest for life was evident in his love for travel and adventure. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, and boating, with a particular fondness for visiting Panama City Beach, Florida. These pastimes brought him joy and allowed him to create countless treasured memories with his family and friends.

Above all, Darrell was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a great provider and always there for his loved ones, embodying the true essence of family. His kindness, humor and unwavering support will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A service to celebrate Darrell's remarkable life will be held on August 21, 2026, with visitation from 12-1 pm and funeral service at 1 pm at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, located at 1010 Mooty Bridge Rd, Lagrange, GA. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the legacy of a man who touched so many lives.
