Dave was the Coordinator for the LaGrange DAV when I stared driving about 12 years ago. His personality was great and he made you feel proud to be a Vet. I learned so much and he made my driving experience a lasting memory. Will never forget you Dave

My family moved to LaGrange, with Trackmobile, the same time the Lyons family did. I adored Dave, as he was part of a group with my grandfather that I always likened to the 'Rat Pack of Trackmobile', maybe because he reminded me of Dean Martin - which at 12 is saying something. His handle was 'Pussycat' & my grandfather was 'Swampy' (slang for Marsh/Marshall Hartelius). There were many fun gatherings with the 'Harvey crowd' - just a bunch of Yankees transported South! Ha. After my grandfather passed, I would still see Dorothy & him at church - he always had a smile, wink & a squeeze on my shoulder. I don't know why, but it was always so comforting to me & reminded me of my Papa. I'm so glad that he's reunited with his love & parents, but also hope he & my Papa are clinking those glasses & raising a toast. Love to the family.

Mr. Dave meant so much to so many Veterans. He was instrumental in ensuring Disabled Veterans were transported on the LaGrange DAV van for so many years. He recruited me to drive in 2011 and he and Ms. Dorothy always kept me on track. Whenever I called him I could always hear grandkids/great grandkids in the background. I believe he loved his family most of all. Mr. Dave is a true patriot and an American hero. My deepest condolences to the family.

Like Dave I also served in the Air Force and for that I greatly admired Dave's devotion to helping disabled veterans after he retired. Dave and I worked together at Trackmobile from 1981 until his retirement and I always appreciated his product knowledge, ability to work with distributor and customer personnel, and above all, his willingness to speak his mind both in agreement and disagreement. He was respected and admired by distributors and competitors alike, a credit to the industry Trackmobile served. I regret that due to Covid-19 I won't be able to attend the in-person services but Dave is at the forefront of my thoughts and remembrances.

Dave was a super good guy. I worked with him when he coordinated drivers for the veterans going to the VA hospitals. He or his wife would answer the phone at all hours whether it was from drivers or veterans. They were the ultimate answering service.
