Debra Godfrey

Mrs. Godfrey was born February 11, 1958 in Munich, Germany, daughter of the late John P. Heard, Jr. and Flora Hester Heard. She was a member of Reed’s Chapel in West Point, GA and was formerly employed with Georgia Pacific.

Survivors in addition to her mother, Flora Heard of LaGrange, include her husband, Wayne Godfrey of Lanett, AL; two step children, Chris Godfrey and Stacey Haynes of LaGrange; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ginger and Gary Ayers and Connie and Bill Lambert, all of LaGrange; father-in-law, Lewis Parker of LaGrange; one niece, Candy Hudson and her husband Joe of Valley, AL; three nephews, John Ayers of LaGrange, Michael Cooper of Prattville, AL, and Chris Cooper of LaGrange; and four great nephews, Scott Hudson, Corey Hudson, Brandon Cooper, and Carson Cooper.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Jeff McCartney and Reverend Milford McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Bill Lambert, 5784 Roanoke Road, LaGrange, GA and the gathering of family and friends will be held this evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Hospice LaGrange, 1510 Vernon Road, LaGrange, GA 30240 in memory of Mrs. Debra Godfrey.
