Doris F. Page

Mrs. Page was born February 19, 1933 in Sylvester, GA, daughter of the late Clement Anslem Evans Ford and Mary Agnes Rouse. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Page was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where she was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class, also involved with the Meals on Wheels program, Bereavement Committee and Merry Makers. She received her formal education at Georgia Southern and later received her Master’s Degree at LaGrange College. Mrs. Page began teaching in Daugherty County, taught in Muscogee County, Tift County and retired from the Troup County School System, after 29 years of service. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Alpha Delta Kappa Education Sorority and LaGrange Woman’s Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph Eugene “Gene” Page, Sr. and a twin sister, Dorothy Ford Bowen.

Survivors include her children, Joseph E. (Ana) Page, Jr. of Suwanee, GA, Mary Lynn (George) Childress of LaGrange, GA, and Deborah (Sid) Alums of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Joey Page, Jeremy Page, Allison Childress, Drake Childress, Carson Childress, Caroline Childress, Mary Katherine Alums, and John Lee Alums; sister, Ruth Ford Pierce of Fernandina Beach, FL; brother-in-law, Wendell Bowen of Albany, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00pm Sunday, April 3, 2016 at First Baptist Church on the Square, LaGrange, GA with Pastor Cade Farris, Dr. Paul Baxter, and Rev. Paul Blair officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The gathering of family and friends will be from 1:30pm until service time in the sanctuary on Sunday.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to a West Georgia Hospice or First Baptist Church on the Square in memory of Mrs. Doris F. Page
