

Mrs. Trammell was born April 21, 1921, in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Reuben Guy McGinnis and the late Nellie Lou Chrisler McGinnis. Her greatest joy was caring for her family and being a wonderful mother. She was a devoted member of Midway Baptist Church, Pine Mountain, GA, where she active in teaching Sunday School, Baptist Training Union, and Vacation School. She gladly served wherever she was needed. She enjoyed being a part of the Home Demonstration Club and the Sunnyside Community Club, among other local civic activities.
Mrs. Trammell took great pride in owning and operating her own business, a dress shop, Dorothy Anne’s, in downtown Pine Mountain. She also enjoyed working at the Information Center at Callaway Gardens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Robert Trammell, Sr., her grandson, Charles Iverson Storey III “Sonny”, and brothers, George “Buddy” McGinnis, Harold McGinnis, and Guy McGinnis.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Charles Wyche), Lou Anne (Charles) Storey, and son, James Robert Trammell Jr., “Bobby”. all of Pine Mountain, GA; sister, Lucille McGinnis Sims of Maysville, GA; Grandchildren: Charles Olin Wyche, Jr ”Chuck” (Heather) of Whitesville, GA; James Michael Wyche (Yvonne) of Valdosta, GA; Lisa Storey of Pine Mountain, GA; Carla Hotchkiss (Brian) of Cataula, GA,: Kim Storey of Pine Mountain, GA: Great Grandchildren: Ivy Storey, Ember Storey, and Slate Storey of Pine Mountain, GA; Trey Wyche and Abigail Wyche of Whitesville, GA; Brandon McDougal (Abby) of LaGrange; Elisabeth (Michael) Baldwin of Richmond Hill, GA; Emma (Noah) Strickland of Columbus, GA; Karl Schmidt of Montgomery, AL; Ryan (Emily) Schmidt of Opelika, AL. Great Great Grandchildren, Logan Baldwin and Bennett Baldwin of Richmond Hill, GA; Family friend: Aimee Schmidt of Pine Mountain, GA.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday June 5, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the Luthersville City Cemetery with Rev. Charles Mitchell officiating. The visitation will be prior to the service at graveside at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Midway Baptist Church Missions, the Appalachian Children’s Fund or the charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Dorothy M Trammell.
