Mrs. Booth was born on March 20, 1918 in Baltimore, MD, to the late Otto A. Geumann and Alice Weber Geumann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Edmunds Booth, a son who died at birth, and her sister, Marion Geumann Von Behren. She was the last of her generation. She is survived by her three children: Karen Booth Dyer of Agoura Hills, CA; John Geumann Booth of LaGrange, GA; and Shelley Booth Denney of Highland, CA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Booth and her husband, a commercial airline pilot, traveled the world. She enjoyed adventures and challenges, whether it be roller blading, skeet shooting, or getting her first computer at the age of 70. She greatly enjoyed entertaining and gourmet cooking. Mrs. Booth was creative and artistic, and particularly gifted at knitting, sewing, painting, and cake decorating. She tried nearly every craft available. A lifelong Episcopalian, her church was very important to her. With a wonderful sense of humor, she was a gifted storyteller and joke teller, to the end of her life. Her joy in living and love of people was infectious.
Services will be held at St Marks Episcopal Church Sat Jan 17th at 3:00pm.
