Edna Conner Bailey

Mrs. Edna C. Bailey, 91, of LaGrange, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at her home.

Mrs. Bailey was born June 28, 1920 in LaGrange, daughter of the late Ira Lee Conner and Zadie Berry Conner. She was a lifelong area resident and member of Murphy Avenue Church of Christ. Mrs. Bailey retired from Callaway Mills, where she worked at the Kex Plant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Bailey, a son, Donny Forrest Bailey, and a daughter, Mary Bailey Truett.

Survivors include her children, David Bailey of Gainesville, Brooksie DeLoach of LaGrange, Barbara Miller of Standing Rock, AL, Gail (Phillip) Hosey of LaGrange, and Leon Bailey of Cleveland; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel with Ronnie Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Phillip and Gail Hosey (108 Colorado Ct.) and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight (Friday).
