Emmett Junior Thompson

Mr. Thompson was born August 3, 1934 in Dale County, AL, son of the late Emmett O’Neal Thompson and Babe Sutton Thompson. He was Baptist by faith and was employed with the Troup County Road Department as a heavy equipment operator before retiring. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Ethel Thompson, daughter, Elaine Carroll, and two brothers, Kirland Thompson and Herbert Brown.

Survivors include his wife Mozelle Fuller Thompson; daughter, Penny Marie Thompson of Atlanta, GA; step daughter, Brenda Moore; step son Jimmy Fuller; three sisters, Reta (Randy) Lassetter of Pine Mountain, GA, Anita Senn of Ozark, AL, and Janice (Larry) Danley of Fortson, GA; brother, Kenneth Wayne Thompson of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Helen Brown; grandchildren, Nikki Carroll, Jeff Fuller, Lisa Owens, Jill Littlefield, Craig Baily, and Shannon Miller; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 12, 2015 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Lamar Womack officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Gray Hill Baptist Church, West Point, GA in memory of Mr. Emmett Junior Thompson.
