Florence Jones Mallory

Mrs. Florence Jones Mallory, 92, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at West Georgia Medical Center.

Mrs. Mallory was born December 25, 1918 in LaGrange, daughter of the late Chesley and Mamie Staley Jones. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, where she was a member of the Mary Will Thompson Sunday School Class and the UMW, Rachel Circle. Mrs. Mallory was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Terrell Griggs Mallory, Sr.; and by a son, Bobby Mallory.

Survivors include her children, Terrell and Glenda Mallory, Jr., John Paul Mallory, all of LaGrange, and Susan and Jon Rylander of Kathleen, GA; a sister, Pellie (Jim) Manning of Marietta; grandchildren, Shannon (Howard) Lester, Amy Mallory, Mary Kate Meyer, Johnny Mitchell, Mallory Lumbra, Rob Mitchell, Kyle (Reney) Mitchell, Ginger Mallory, Shelly Mallory, and Ree Mallory; great-grandchildren, Owen Meyer, Graham Meyer, Hollis Lester, Reese Lester, Kayla Lumbra, Carly Lumbra, Haylee Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell, Andrew Bens, and Sadie Bens; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel with Dr. Harold Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Hillview East Cemetery.

The family will be at 120 Alford St., and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Flowers will be accepted or those desiring may contribute to the First United Methodist Church, Childrens Ministry in memory of Florence Jones Mallory.
