Born July 30, 1947, George Craig Repass was the only child of the late George Jesse Repass and late Carolyn Hudson Ketter. Craig’s maternal grandparents and great grandparents had roots in West Point, Georgia and he had fond memories of spending summers with his cousins and other relatives down at the “farm”. Craig spent time in Lake Tahoe and was the youngest Keno Supervisor at Harvey’s Casino in the 1970’s. Craig’s career was predominantly in teaching History which included Pike County High School, Cedartown High School, Gordon College, Troup High, LaGrange Academy, and LaGrange High School. He retired from Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
Craig was a graduate of Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, N.C. with a Bachelors’ degree and a graduate of N.C. State University where he completed his Master’s degree in History. His interests in history and the civil war lead him to turn his thesis into a book published in 1985, by Old Army press, titled “Custer for President?” The book debunks the myth fostered by novelists that Custer had attacked head long and head strong into disaster at Little Big Horn for political reasons, as it was an election year for presidency. Craig and his wife had the once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in the Custer Battlefield Archaeological Dig of 1985.
Craig met his wife of 45 years in Raleigh, NC. Craig had a nomadic spirit with a sense of adventure; as a result, provided his family with the opportunity to experience living in different places, most notably Carson City/Reno area, and broadening their experiences by visiting various historical landmarks. Not only did Craig love to travel, but he enjoyed eating at different restaurants wherever we ended up and LOVED to cook for his family. Craig also loved to read, instilling the love of reading to his family and encouraged us to have an open mind.
His witty and weird sense of humor gave him the title of being a “limited edition”.
Survivors include:

Sons:
Greg Hudson Repass (fiancée
Lauren)
Kevin Frederick Repass
Cody Ryan Repass (wife Michelle)
