

George was born in LaGrange to the late Jesse Talmadge Wallace and Lillian Lucille Wallace on May 02, 1940. He graduated from LaGrange High School and married Martha Anne Prince on June 24, 1961, in LaGrange, Georgia. He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s in building construction. He served in the Navy Civil Engineer Corp and was honorably discharged in May 1970 with the rank of Lieutenant.
For many years he worked for companies helping with construction and estimation for major projects. He was an official member of the American Institute of Constructors, a member of the Sigma Lambda Chi, the National Honorary Scholastic Construction Society Rtt0-2 Chapter, and he was certified in General Construction by the American Society of Professional Estimators. He received Estimator of the Year in 1984. George was a Professor at Auburn University and was named a life member in 1981 by the Auburn Alumni Association. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church on the Square where he served as a deacon and a bible study leader.
George is preceded in death by both parents, Jesse Talmadge Wallace and Lillian Lucille McKenzie Wallace, his beloved wife, Martha Anne Prince Wallace, his three brothers, Clark, Horace, and William (Bill) Wallace, and his nephew, David Wallace Morgan.
He is survived by his sister, Etta Wallace Morgan, his brother-in-law, Gary Morgan, his nieces, Kay Morgan, Lori Morgan, and Denise Crawford, and his great-nephews, Garrick Morgan and Nate Morgan with extended family, Phyllis Allen and special friend/caregiver, Bruce Graben.
The grave-side service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at East Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Paul Blair of First Baptist Church on the Square will be officiating.
Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Home, Pineland / Camp Pioneer.
