Born on November 28, 1948, Glenda was the beloved daughter of the late Howard and Ruby Hester. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Langley and Betty Jean Hester.
Glenda was first and foremost a devoted Christian whose faith guided the way she lived her life. She was a faithful member of Freedom Baptist Church and found great joy in serving the Lord through her love and care for others.
For many years, Glenda faithfully served her community as a Registered Nurse at West Georgia Health System, retiring in 2011. Nursing was more than a career—it was a calling. She cared for countless patients with the same compassion, gentleness, and dedication that she showed her own family every day.
Above all else, Glenda treasured her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose greatest happiness came from caring for those she loved. She had a servant's heart and a warm home that welcomed everyone. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals, baking treats for family gatherings, sewing with care, tending to her garden, and creating lasting memories while traveling with those she loved.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 57 years, Arthur G. "Sarge" Dudley; her children, Kelly (Byron) Jones, Patrick (Jennifer) Dudley, and Valerie Redmond; her cherished grandchildren, Ashley Faulk, Anna Miller, Abbey Meek, Harleigh Dudley, Savannah Hunt, and Jordan Hunt; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Korbyn Faulk, Knox Faulk, Molly Meek, and Grady Miller. She also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness and unwavering love.
Glenda will be remembered for her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, steadfast faith, and unconditional love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the example of grace, strength, and selfless love she leaves behind.
If love could have kept her here, she would have lived forever. Her family was the greatest joy of her life, and the love, wisdom, kindness, and faith she poured into each generation will continue to guide and comfort those who were blessed to know her. While our hearts ache with the loss of her earthly presence, we find peace in knowing she is now whole again, embraced in the arms of her Savior. Though she will be deeply missed every day, the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the unconditional love she gave so freely will remain in our hearts forever. Her life was a beautiful testament to faith, compassion, and selfless love, a legacy that will continue for generations to come.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
