Known affectionately as “Poodle” by many she radiated joy everywhere she went— her smile, a constant comfort and her heart a safe place for many.
Glimerene was the beloved wife of the late pastor, Samuel Roger Jones Sr. her soulmate of 63 years. Together, they shared a love story built on Faith, service and gratitude. As a pastor‘s wife, she stood faithfully by his side—not in the background, but as a beacon in her own right. Serving her, Lord and Savior was the foundation of her life.
With a servants heart, she gave selflessly to family, friends, her community and strangers. Her “sunshine baskets”, cards, or simply her presence could always be found near those in need. She walked quietly and gracefully as she served. Never boasting or having the expectation of praise. Her joy truly was rooted in giving.
She loved Forrest Gump, Antiques Roadshow, baking , and crafts. She had a passion for homemaking, decorating, hosting, and creating warmth in every corner of her home. She collected Avon bottles with care and danced to Dean Martin and Elvis like no one was watching.
Everywhere she went, she left little notes — handwritten reminders of love, faith, and kindness tucked into drawers, written in her Bible, or sometimes on a napkin. And Poodle’s family and friends know they’ll be stumbling upon these little love notes for years to come. Thank you for loving so big.
She gave. She loved. She laughed. And now — she is finally free. She is finally home.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Roger "Roscoe" (Gayla) Jones, daughter Vickie Shows, grandchildren Skeet (Jana), Chevis (Amanda) White, Trenton White, Lindsay Smith, Erin Shows (Mark Spivey), and Kelley Shows, great grandchildren Kennedy Jones, Lucas White, Braylon Smith, Ellie Smith, Remi Spivey, and Mila Spivey. Glimerene was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Samuel Roger Jones, and her their son Richard Williams Jones.
