Guy Walter Nelson Jr.
June 7, 1930 – January 28, 2020
Guy Walter Nelson, Jr., 89, of LaGrange, GA was called home to Glory on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from Wellstar West Georgia Hospice.
Mr. Nelson was born June 7, 1930 in Chilton County, AL to the late Guy Walter Nelson, Sr. and Dora Bell Manning Nelson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Southwest Baptist Church of LaGrange. After retirement from Milliken-Valway Plant with 45 years of service, Mr. Nelson also worked for Carquest. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and was a Die-Hard Alabama Fan. Mr. Nelson loved his grandchildren and family dearly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Williamson Fuller Nelson.
Survivors include his children, Norma Fuller Leonard, Cathy Fuller (Bill) Otto, Patti Fuller (Dan) Ward, Robin Morrisey, Phillip Nelson, and Phyllis Nelson; brother, Billy (Charlotte) Nelson; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The gathering of family and friends will be Friday, January 31, 2020 from 2:00pm until 3:00pm at the funeral home. The Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00pm following the gathering in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Committal services will follow at the Shadowlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Wellstar West Georgia Hospice in memory of Guy W. Nelson, Jr.

My sincere condolences go out to all of you I deeply appreciate the fact that you guys have always been there for him When we could not be. He was my father and I loved him Life delta us a really bad hand but I’m really glad that he did not go through life alone and he had you guys to fill that void for that I will always be eternally grateful again my sympathies go out to you
