“Doughie” as he was affectionately known, was born December 15, 1946 in LaGrange, GA. He was the son of the late James Robert “J.R.” Alsobrook and Katherine Sikes Alsobrook Parkerson. Doughie was a Deacon of Unity Baptist Church and was a Vietnam Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army. Until retirement, he worked as an Electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Doughie loved his family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sporting events. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Cammon Alsobrook; and his brother, Wayne Alsobrook.
Survivors include his sons, Brian (Tara) Alsobrook and Mitch (Ashley) Alsobrook; grandchildren, Hollis Alsobrook, Jeb Alsobrook, Landon Alsobrook, Colton Alsobrook, Brylee Alsobrook, Samie McKeen and Logan McKeen; sister, Pat (Jerry) Thompson; several nieces, nephews. Other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Unity Baptist Church and the Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00pm at the church with Pastor Doug Bingham and Rev. Mike Hornsby officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
