James Taylor Criswell

James was born in Rock Mills, AL to the late James Hilliard Criswell and Sara Gertrude Roberts Criswell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Adelle Brown Criswell.

James loved his country and served honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He later retired from the Maintenance Department at LaGrange College and was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square where he loved bring part of the Richard Shiver Sunday School Class.

He is survived by his son, Anthony and Rebecca Criswell of LaGrange, GA and two granddaughters, Libby Criswell and Milly Criswell; niece, Cindy Johnson of San Diego, CA.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, GA. The Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held following the Gathering at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange, GA with Rev. Dr. Paul Baxter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Baptist Church on the Square.
