James Alvin Humphrey

Mr. Humphrey was born January 31, 1943 in LaGrange, GA to the late James C. Humphrey and Frances Elnora Wright Humphrey. He was a member of Creekside Baptist Church and had worked at Woodbury Business Forms for a number of years and held several jobs ending with Hills and Dales which he loved. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, James Humphrey and a sister Mary Ellen.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Humphrey; daughter, Paula (Ray) Tarwater; daughter, Leola (Jeff) Norred; son, James H. Humphrey; daughter, Rebecca Miller; grandchildren, Joshua (Keri) Miller, Jacob Humphrey, Ashley Crawford, Brianna Tarwater, CJ Tarwater, Christian Norred, Ashley Powell, Jerica Miller and Alex Miller; great grandchild, Mason Miller and several other great grandchildren, special friends, Linda Browder, Jamie Browder, Brian Browder and families; other relatives and friends.

The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. The Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Thursday, May 12, 2016 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Lamar Truitt officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
