

Mr. Landers was born December 17, 1936 in Randolph County, Alabama, son of the late William Bryan Landers and Carrie Lee Jones Landers. He had lived in LaGrange most of his life and was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church. He was retired from West Point-Stevens, where he worked as an electrician for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Landers.
Survivors include his wife, Marette Landers; sons, David Landers and Ricky and Melissa Oubre Landers; grandchildren, Eric Landers, Alyssa Landers, Shyann Landers, Madison Landers, Sam Landers and Isabella Landers; a sister, Barbara Shaw; sisters-in-law, Christine Howard, Frances Humphrey, and Margarete Landers; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will gather to receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange Chapel with Rev. Andy Buchanan and Rev. Frank Sledge officiating. Entombment will follow in Shadowlawn Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to either Franklin Road Baptist Church, West Georgia Hospice, or The National Kidney Foundation in memory of James F. Landers.
