

Mr. McClure was born December 20, 1928 in Jackson, Clarke County, AL, to the late Robert Inmon McClure and Alpha Maples McClure. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and received a Degree in Business Administration from Georgia Tech in 1951.
Mr. McClure proudly served his country from 1951-1954 in the U.S. Army, 73rd AAA Battalion, as a First Lieutenant. He was part of the first U.S. unit stationed in Germany under NATO, defending the bridges across the Rhine River. Mr. McClure was the owner / operator of McClure Cigar and Candy Company, a division of Hav-A-Tampa, in LaGrange and also worked with Travelers and Metropolitan Insurance Companies. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church on the Square and was in the Richard Shiver Sunday School Class.
In Addition to his parents, Mr. McClure was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine “Pat” McClure.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Alan Malis of Spartanburg, SC; Robin and James Wendland of Prattville, AL; and Gail and Russell Ralston of Selma, AL; four grandchildren, Michael and Diane Wendland and Ashley and Anna Ralston.
Funeral Services will be Friday, November 8, 2:00 P.M. in the LaGrange Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The gathering of Family and Friends will be from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
