I was privileged to play in the orchestra at the Tabernacle Church in Melbourne from 84-87 and was always inspired by Jimmy's spirit and energy. I will never play piano like he did.
One of God's best!!!

We are so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. He blessed us a radio ministry team and contributed to 2 of our radio programs on Manx Radio. He touched so many hearts and lives here in Northern Ireland through his wonderful ministry in music, the Word and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, during his many visits here from the 1970s.

To the family of Jimmy Smith: Today, November 1, is the first time I heard of Jimmy's death. I had the privilege of working with him for several years in the early '70's when we were part of the Dr. Ford Philpot evangelistic team. I mourn his passing today.

Dear Christie and Jonathan, I just heard about the passing of your precious, talented and amazing father, please accept my condolences.
I first met Jimmy in Northern Ireland, he was asleep in the house he was staying, and the Lord woke him up and told him to go and prophesy over the young man in the next room. There birthed a friendship, we enjoyed much coffee, and trips to thrift stores and ministering there. Then I visited him in GA, the stories, the humor, his wonderful love for the Lord, all bring back many smiles as I think and remember.
One morning Jimmy sat down at his piano, tinkled the ivories to warm his fingers and the presence of the Lord filled the room to where I had to hold onto the door posts to stop from falling to the floor! Such a generous, giving, thoughtful and loving man. He just did what God told him to do, went where God told him to go and said what God told him to say.
Thank you God for the blessing that was the life of James Wesley Smith, I look forward to seeing you again, but until then Lord please Bless Christie, Jonathan and their families. Jimmy was one of the proudest fathers I had ever met.

Thirty-four years ago my son Philip was healed through a word of knowledge that God had given to Jimmy. That was the start of our introduction to the Holy Spirit, Baptism in the Spirit etc. We stayed with Jimmy and Jimmy stayed at our home. He also arranged for a wreath when Irene died in 1994. It was a shock to learn this morning of his passing. Shalom to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. The teachings he gave on travail began for me a journey into spiritual warfare that will never end. I love the way he would talk about the Kingdom of Yahveh as if it was the most natural thing in the world. To be with him as he offered praise and worship to the One he loved above all else was a challenge and a privilege.

At the start of my ministry in 1989 Jimmy was worship leader at Tabernacle Church. He was the most gifted Christian musician we have ever heard. He was a good friend to me in the first day of my ministry. He is in a better place and we miss him.

Jimmy has a special place in our lives. We were trying to have children for 7 years when friends told us about how Jimmy had prayed for them and they had had a child. The next time he was in Ireland we went to their house and he prayed for us and that month we conceived! Jonathan is now 14 and we have two more wonderful girls.

Jonathan, Christi and family: I am so sorry to hear about your dad. He was a great friend, minister, counselor and deliverer. Had some extraordinary times at the home there. Been out of touch last couple of years and sorry to find out to late to attend. He is now singing and dancing on streets of Gold and united with the love of his life. He left a great legacy for you and memories will live on in each of you as a great man and son of God has received his great reward
