

Jane was born on February 29, 1936 to Katherine and Leon Hicks of Jacksonville, FL.
She attended Florida State University where she performed on the flying trapeze in the FSU Flying High Circus. While there she met the love of her life, Julian, and they would go on to share 66 wonderful years together.
Following college, she was an elementary school teacher and homemaker.
Jane is survived by her children, Price (Nancy) Hurst, Katherine (Joe) Monroe as well as five grandchildren, Garrett (Claire), Spencer (Kali), Caroline (Mike), Janey (Connor) and Katie, as well as one great grandchild (Theo) and another on the way (Kayce).
She loved her family dearly and had a soft spot in her heart for her grandchildren.
Jane was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church on the Square for many years. She enjoyed playing golf, tennis and bridge in her spare time.
The family wishes to express special appreciation to Gina Floyd, her longtime caregiver.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church on the Square or a charity of your choice.
A graveside funeral service to celebrate Jane’s life will be held at the Shadowlawn Mausoleum on Friday October 31 at 11:00.
