

Mr. Kimbrel was born June 4, 1938 in Habersham County, GA, son of the late Roy L. Kimbrel and Jessie Cathey Kimbrel. He was a member of Wehadkee Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Southeastern Auto Crusher, Inc. for 35 years before retiring. Mr. Kimbrel was a Mason and Shriner where he was a member of the Lanier Shrine Club in Gainesville, GA, The Grand Lodge of Georgia, Scottish Rite Valley of Atlanta, The YAARAB Shrine of Atlanta, and The Yona Lodge #382. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Barry Kimbrel and a step son, Jack Ryan Waldrop.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Kimbrel; two sons, Jere “Tootler” Kimbrel, Jr. and his wife Rhonda Kimbrel and Terry “Babe” Kimbrel and his wife April Kimbrel; four grandchildren, Katie Kimbrel, Cody Kimbrel, Hannah Kimbrel, and Jeannie Kennedy; one great grandson, Connor Kennedy; sister, Barbara Windham and her husband Dan Windham; several nieces and nephews; and numerous close friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 31, 2014 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Reverend Nick Pilgrim and Reverend Richard Clinard officiating. Burial will follow in the Kimbrel Family Cemetery, Five Points, AL. The gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
