

Jim was born March 28,1960 in LaGrange, GA, son of the late James Oliver and Marie Malone. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and covered many miles as a truck driver. Jim was a simple man that enjoyed fishing, his chickens, gardening, cooking, baking, NASCAR and working on cars. He was kindhearted and would do anything for anyone. Jim loved his family and spoiled them as often as possible. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Trindi Griffen; grandson, Michael Blankenship; sister, Tammy Pursley; and first wife, Joyce Oliver.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Debra Oliver; his children, Spanky Blount (Hollie Martin) and Debbie Hanson; brothers, John, Henry, and Jessie; sister, Helen (John), grandchildren, Ashley, Caleb and Austin; great grandchild, Jayden; close friends, Steve, Alan “Lil Man” and Becky, J.T., Terri and Mac; a host of other relatives and friends that will all miss him dearly.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held immediately following, at 1:00 pm in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Minister Jerry Scarborough officiating.
