Joyce was born March 4, 1940 in Cragford, AL, daughter of the late David Ellis Childers and Ozie Ree Bryant Childers. She owned a Ceramic Shop for a number of years and later provided Childcare in her home, until her retirement. Joyce loved bluegrass music and even done some circuit traveling. She was an artist with her shirt-painting and designs and loved college football. Joyce loved lengthy conversations, in which she enjoyed doing the majority of talking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy “Roger” Andrews; her brother, James Edward “Budd” Childers; great son-in-law, Tommy Smith; great niece, Kayla Smith; and great nephews, Westley Mashburn and William “T” Smith.
Surviors include her nieces, Tina Hannah and Lorie Starnes; great nieces and great nephews, Josh (Holly) Hannah, Shane Hannah, Brandi Hannah, Lisa (Matt) Williamson, J.C. Starnes, C.J. (Cody) Davis, Jake Starnes, and LeeAnn Barrett; 12 great great nieces and great great nephews; several other relatives and friends.
The Gathering of Family and Friends will be 9:00am until 10:30am Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The Graveside Service will be 11:00am Saturday, February 6, 2022 at Restlawn Memory Gardens with Dr. Mike Reeves officiating.
