He was born on July 18, 1954, in LaGrange, GA, to the late Billy Ruel Scarborough and Minnie Lou Stewart Scarborough.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in by a brother and sister-in-law, William and Terrie Scarborough.
Larry was currently employed with Vaughn Xpress, where he loved his job, and was greatly admired.
Larry is survived by his son, Larry Scarborough Jr. and his wife Michelle; daughter, Windy Terrell; grandchildren, Chase Kennedy and his wife Emily, Gage Scarborough and his wife Madie Rae, Tate Scarborough, Bobbie Hughes, Christian Miller and her husband Jacob as well as eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Deborah (Steve) Carpenter; and several other relatives and friends.
Larry loved his family and was loved by many. He retired from Kaydon Corporation with 45 years of service.
In lieu of flowers, Larry requested memorial contributions be made to “Blessings from Bradley” in honor of his grandson, Bradley. A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, GA from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday February 20, 2026.
