Gale was a great guy and a good friend. Growing up in Hogansville, we had a lot of good times. I spent a lot of weekends at the Swann's house. They were all very talented. One weekend I was going to their house and Gale was letting my drive his car. We were smoking (not cool), but teenagers do dumb things. The ashes blew back on my clothes in the back seat and caught fire. I had to throw the clothes away. Gale's brother, Gene, let me borrow some clothes. I'm thankful that we crossed paths. I know I'll see him again. Before he passed away he called me and told me he'd been saved and baptized.

Met Gale on a playground when we were 12-13 years old.  We became fast friends along with his brother Bill and the rest of the Swann family.  We moved from LaGrange but stayed in touch for years.  We had some great times doing the mischief that is common to all boys back then.  Some of my most precious memories are around the times spent with Gale, Bill, Gene and the other Swann's. 
They were a unique and precious family.

I was very sorry to hear about Gale's passing. Growing up in Hogansville, Gale was my best friend. He gave me my first guitar lesson. That was 60 years ago and I still remember it, and I still play. I spent a lot of time at the Swann house in LaGrange. The whole family could play an instrument or sing and we had some wonderful times. Gale had a 1956 Crown Victoria that was super nice. He'd let me drive it and I didn't even have a license. He was a little guy but had a great big heart. He'd give you anything he had. Whenever I'd go on a date, I'd tell Gale and he'd ask, "Did you tell her about me?" "No, Gale," I'd say, "I told her about me."  He'd laugh like crazy. Pastor Rev. Dr. Lamar Truitt

So many great memories I'm sorry I didn't get to come see you more due to the out break of covid just know I will cherish the memories we had I love you so much uncle Gail you will be missed always tell everyone I said hello gone but never forgotten fly high our guardian angel 

I loved this little guy for about seventy years and had more fun with him than anyone. I went to Dunson School, worked in the Mill with him at Dunson, and was friends with him on the village. My prayers are with his family and friends.
