Mr. Barron was born August 5, 1934 in Sargent Georgia, to the late Charlie Lee Barron and Etta Stitcher Barron. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Lloyd Barron.
He is survived by his son, William (Alana) Barron; daughters Linda (David) Clay and Lisa (Delane Hill) Barron along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Barron proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. As a Platoon Sargent in the Infantry Division, his heroic leadership and dedicated service earned him many awards which included the Korean Campaign Recognition, the Vietnam Unit Citation for his work with the civilians of South Vietnam, and the distinguished Bronze Star with a Combat V. In 1973, he retired with 21 years of honorable service.
A Graveside Services will be held 2:00 P.M Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Meriwether Memory Gardens in Manchester, GA. The gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
