Mrs. Shelton was born November 23, 1944 in LaGrange, GA, daughter of the late William Herschel Strain and Arrie Moore Strain. She was a longtime member of South Highland Presbyterian Church and volunteered at Twin Fountain Nursing Home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bruce Strain and Billy Ray Strain, and her sisters, Dot Bearden, Faye Watts, Mary Horne, and Dean Spurlock.
Mrs. Shelton was a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, Ronald S. Shelton; daughter, Rhonda Shelton (Bill) Shiflet; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 23, 2018 in Shadowlawn Cemetery with Rev. Don Ellison officiating. The gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in memory of Mrs. Linda Strain Shelton.
