

Louise Morris Garrison, formerly of Asheville, NC, passed away July 28, 2015, at the age of 98. The daughter of Roy and Ethel Morris, Louise was born March 13, 1917 in Weaverville, NC, where she grew up.
She was the third of ten children, the only girl. She graduated from the Asheville Normal and Teachers College and spent her professional life as an elementary school teacher, primarily at Haw Creek Elementary School in Asheville. In 1941, shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor, she married William Thomas Garrison, a marriage of 64 years, which ended with his death in 2006.
Louise is survived by her son, David L. (Donna Barger) Garrison of LaGrange; two grandsons, Will of Minneapolis and Steven of Boston, and one brother, James Morris of Weaverville, NC.
She was a long-time devoted member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church in Asheville.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, at 2:00pm Friday, July 31, 2015. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 171 Beaverdam Road, Asheville, NC 28804.
