Margaret Whitley

Mrs. Margaret Ruth Huff Whitley, age 82, of West Point, passed away on June 22, 2025 surrounded by people that loved her in the house she loved so much and at peace. Margaret was born on September 7, 1942 in Roopville, Georgia to the late J.T. Huff and Susie Merrell Huff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Bob, first husband, Frank Whitley, sisters, Gloria Jackson, Helen Thompson, and Reba Dowden and a brother, James Huff. Margaret, in addition to caring for the needs of her family, and loving her kids most of all, worked for manufacturing companies like Emerson and Hanes until her retirement.

Survivors include her son, Tim Whitley (Susan), daughter, Joann Whitley (Mike), son, David Whitley (Shari); brothers, Charlie Huff and Don Huff (Kathy); and sister, Barbara Hyde; grandchildren, Kyle, Whitley, Claire and Eli and great grandchildren Hailey and Emily, nieces and nephews and extended family.

Margaret wanted no services, but rather to be cremated and rejoined with gardens and land she loved so much and tended for more than 50 years. She was an extraordinary wife, sister, aunt, employee, and person, and an absolutely amazing mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She will be fondly remembered by those that knew and loved her always.
