Dear Delane, Susan, Theresa, and Kelly,

I want to say how sorry I am to know of Mrs. Anderson Martin's passing. I know she had been ill for some time, but losing someone we love is never easy -- especially someone as loved and loving as she was. I am thankful that I was able to visit her two years ago and spend some time with her when we were in LaGrange.

I know I have said this before, but Mr. and Mrs. Anderson shaped my life profoundly. They were second parents to me, and some of my happiest memories growing up were with them and your family. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson and I traveled all over Georgia and Alabama doing research and going to conferences, and we spent countless hours at the shop and at their house working on different projects. I enjoyed every minute of it, whether we were in the archives or moving furniture and boxes or just talking. They were the best of people, and I loved them both very much. They taught me so much about life and what is really important. I am so thankful and blessed to have had them in my life. They were wonderful role models and I have always tried to follow the things they taught me. They are ever in my thoughts, as my wife and children can attest.

I am very sorry that I cannot be there today, but my love and prayers are with you and your families,

Danny
