Mary was born February 3, 1942, in Pontiac, MI to the late William Francis Bauman and Bertha Mae Wright Bauman.
Mary and her six siblings grew up on a farm in Michigan. She graduated from Kentucky Mountain Bible College where she met her future husband. As a pastor’s wife, elementary school teacher, musician, piano teacher, and most of all through her daily acts of loving kindness, she has transformed hundreds of lives, as her students, friends and family followed her example, thousands upon thousands of lives were touched by her around the world. This week tributes have been received from over thirty-one countries. She enjoyed reading books, playing music, and sharing tea pots with everyone, but her true devoted passion was her Jesus, her husband and her children, for these she lived and loved every moment. While our hearts are broken, we know that she is full of great joy in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years Rev. Melvin Leroy Rigsby; son, Melvin Rigsby (Esther); daughter, Kecia Simmons (Matthew) grandchildren, Joshua Rigsby (Christina), Brenna Richardson (Josh), Caleb Rigsby (Krista), Reuben Rigsby and Elliott Simmons; great-grandchildren, Sophia Rigsby and Aletha Rigsby.
