Born on June 12, 1956, in Spokane, Washington, Peggy was the daughter of Martha Yarbrough Ledford and Bill Ledford. She was raised in Troup County, attended Troup High School, and worked for NOK in LaGrange before retiring after 34 years of service.
Peggy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening and tending to her plants and flowers, and she was happiest cooking for her family, especially at gatherings filled with laughter, fried catfish, and her famous hush puppies. A gifted homemaker, she sewed clothes for her children, made curtains, embroidered, and enjoyed cross-stitching.
Peggy loved music and the outdoors. She treasured fishing trips with her father, Bill, and listening to her husband, David, play guitar with family and friends. She especially loved Christmas and fall, filling those seasons with warmth, family traditions, and happy memories.
A Baptist by faith, Peggy never missed an opportunity to speak with others about the Lord. Her gentle spirit, giving heart, and steadfast faith touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her laughter, faith, and gentle touch.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, David Wayne Reese, and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Angie Charlene Reese; son, Matthew Reese (Ashlea); sister, Tonya Massie (Rick); brothers, Tommy Ledford and Phillip Ledford (Jenny); grandchildren, Jeffrey Sheppard (Kristian), Amber Sheppard Waters (Drew), Felicity Gill, Mackenzy Gill, Emily Reese, Morgan Reese, Myles Gill, and Jaxon Reese; 12 great-grandchildren; two nephews; and seven nieces, all of LaGrange.
