Quillie Veral Overstreet

Veral was born April 24, 1948, in Tifton, GA to the late Quillie “Junior” Overstreet Jr. and Vera Mae “Bunt” Young Overstreet.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David “Nat” Overstreet, Sammy Overstreet and Bobby Overstreet.

Veral served his country honorably as a United States Marine in Vietnam. He had an amazing love for horses and was a cowboy at heart. His passion was passed along to his nephew Blake who carries on the tradition and is now a Ranch Manager. His final wishes were to spread his ashes where the horses roam in New Mexico.

He is survived by his niece who he loved as a daughter, Vicki (Ken) Ragan; great nephew who he loved as a son, Blake (Hannah) Stancil; nephew who he loved as a son, David (Alysa) Overstreet; sister, Julie (Clarence) Johnson; sister-in-law, Beate Overstreet; nieces, Vera (Kirk) Griswell and Ashley Overstreet; great niece, Bryanna Overstreet; special friends, Hayley and Allen Lanier, Jessica Goulsby, Barbara and Tony Harris, Rev. James Benefield, Bobby Rogers and Wayne Rogers.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 28, 2025, in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, GA. The Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby.
